If you hold a BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace
Training you can upgrade to the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training
and Assessment by:
1. Attending the Portfolio Day workshop, one (1) day, with
a portfolio of evidence compiled by your own self-assessment against
each of the following unit’s of competency.($150)
TAADEL301B – Provide training through instruction and
demonstration of skills
TAADEL402B – Facilitate group-based learning
TAADEL401B – Plan and organise group-based learning
TAADES402B – Design and develop learning programs
TAAASS401B – Plan and organise assessment
TAAASS402B – Assess competence
Your Portfolio of Evidence must include the following documentation:
• a certified copy of the BSZ40198 Certificate
IV in Assessment and Workplace Training qualification together with
a transcript, verified and stamped by a Justice of the Peace
• your curriculum vitae/resume
• evidence of how you have maintained currency through on-the-job
application for each unit of competency with supporting documentation,
• a letter of verification on official letterhead from your Manager/Supervisor
stating you are currently involved in training and assessment.
2. Attending The Vocational Education and Training
Context two (2) day workshop. ($1500)
Units of Competency:
TAAENV401B – Work effectively in Vocational Education
and Training
Specifies the competency required to work effectively in the policy
and operating environment of the VET sector.
Learning outcomes
• work within the VET policy framework
• work within the training and/or assessment organisation’s
quality framework

• demonstrate a client-focused approach to work.
TAAENV402B – Foster and promote an inclusive learning
culture
Specifies the competency required to foster and promote an environment
which supports inclusive work practices and learning culture.

• develop and implement work strategies to support inclusivity
• promote a culture of learning
• monitor and improve work practices.
TAAENV403B – Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment
Specifies the competency required to ensure the health, safety and welfare
of learners and candidates.
Learning outcomes
• identify Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) responsibilities
• identify hazards in the learning environment
• assess risks in the learning environment
• develop and implement actions to ensure the health safety and
welfare of learners and/or candidates
• provide appropriate OHS requirements to learners and/or candidates
• monitor OHS arrangements in the learning environment.
TAADES401B – Use Training Packages to meet client needs
Specifies the competency required to use Training Packages and accredited
courses as a tool to support industry, organisation or individual competency
development needs.

• define the basis for using Training Package(s) and accredited
courses
• analyse and interpret the qualifications framework
• analyse and interpret competency standards and accredited modules
for client application(s)
• contextualise competency standards and accredited courses for
client application(s)
• analyse and interpret assessment guidance for client application

tool for client application.
3. Attending the Facilitating One to One, Work-based
Learning and Assessment Tools and Validation two (2) day workshop
($1500)
TAADEL403B – Facilitate individual learning
TAADEL404B – Facilitate work-based learning
Specify the competencies required to facilitate individual learning
through a one-to-one relationship between a learner and facilitator.
Learning outcomes
• identify individual learning facilitation requirements
• establish the learning/facilitation relationship
• maintain and develop the learning/facilitation relationship
• close and evaluate the learning/facilitation relationship
• establish an effective work environment for learning
• develop a work-based learning pathway

TAAASS403B – Develop assessment tools
TAAASS404B – Participate in assessment validation
Specify the competencies required to design and develop effective and
relevant assessment tools against a set of competency standards and
participate in an assessment validation process.
